New Patient Appointments

Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high-quality dental care. We understand that your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to children’s needs and it is our goal to make your child feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.

Your first visit is all about your child - his or her comfort, happiness, and health

During your child’s first visit, we will review their medical history form with you, and discuss their dental history as well, so that we can get to know their unique experiences in the dental environment, your concerns with their dental/oral health, and how best to treat your child and their specific needs.  We will take the time to get to know your child and approach their visit with care and a gentle touch, to help them feel comfortable.  After getting to know your child, the dentist will complete an exam, evaluating your child’s teeth, soft tissues, and bite.

Depending on your child’s age and specific needs, we may recommend taking digital x-rays to help to screen for any dental disease/conditions which may not be visible during the exam or to further diagnose any visible disease. If indicated, your child will have a dental cleaning and fluoride treatment to help their smile stay healthy!

During the visit, we will review any necessary restorative or recommended preventative treatments.  We will also discuss home care prevention strategies, including proper oral hygiene practices, oral habits, diet/nutrition, and when to come to see us next!

Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these with you to your child's first appointment:

  • Your completed patient information form (Including health history and patient policies form)
  • Your insurance card

REGULAR CHECKUPS ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF MAINTAINING A HEALTHY SMILE!

The American Dental Association recommends that children visit the dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep their teeth and gums healthy.
